The ResMed Apnea Link with Pulse Oximetry is a simple, accurate and affordable device approved by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM)  as a level 4 home ambulatory testing unit.  This screening will help objectively identify patients at risk for obstructive sleep apnea.  The dual-channel screening will be conducted in the patient’s home for two nights.  This screening will measure both airflow/snoring as well as Spo2 and pulse.  The test includes a two page report with analysis including events, overall AHI, pulse oximetry signals, detailed Spo2 information and waveform data.  Each study will be scored by a RPSGT and reviewed by a board certified sleep physician.  Cost of the screening to the patient is $140.00, plus sales tax, and S&H (if necessary).

In Wisconsin alone, sleep laboratories can only accommodate a certain percentage of the 255,000 patients in the Badger state expected to have sleep apnea.  Therefore, the option of home screening and testing is necessary to help identify the vast number of people who need it.
